Neurofeedback Relieves a Decade of Depression and Anxiety
“I’ve been dealing with depression and anxiety for the past 10 or 12 years. I’ve always been super sensitive and worried about what other people think, but it got to the point that I couldn’t bear to interact with others or even leave the house. I was pretty much a hermit.
“My doctor prescribed antidepressants, which I took for years—until I started reading about their downside and stopped taking them. I didn’t feel any difference at all! I looked into alternatives and tried everything I read about, but nothing really helped.
“Through my research, I learned about Whitaker Wellness, and as a last resort, I decided to make an appointment and go to your clinic.
“I went through your Back to Health Program and was treated with IVs, bioidentical hormones, and thyroid. Most impressive, however, was neurofeedback. It helped so much that I returned several months later for additional treatment.
“It’s been almost a year and a half since my last visit to Whitaker Wellness, and I’ve made great progress. I’m much happier, more energetic, and motivated to get out and do things. I volunteer as a mentor for a first grader (I was a teacher for 35 years) and take care of my two-year-old granddaughter, which I couldn’t have done before. My friends and daughters also notice tremendous improvements.
“My stay at Whitaker Wellness was a wonderful experience. Neurofeedback has made me feel calmer, more relaxed, and capable of being a ‘real person’ again.”
Peace of Body, Mind, and Soul
“When we came to Whitaker Wellness last year, I was at the lowest place I’d been in a long time. Over the past few years, I’d gone through the stress of caring for my first husband during his illness and the grief of his passing. Although I am now happily remarried to a wonderful man, I just wasn’t feeling as well physically or mentally as I had in the past.
“For example, I’ve worked at the same law firm for 20 years, but I would forget the names of clients—and I’ve known some of them for decades. Or I’d miss appointments at the beauty shop, which, as any woman knows, no one forgets. I had taken care of my mother after she had a stroke and was suffering with dementia, and I just couldn’t shake the feeling that, like her, I was developing Alzheimer’s. When I mentioned these things to my physician at Whitaker Wellness, she prescribed a course of neurofeedback.
“After the very first treatment, I noticed a sense of serenity that I hadn’t felt in quite some time. Some of it was the relief I felt when the neurofeedback therapist, who is exceptionally kind and patient, reassured me that I didn’t have Alzheimer’s, but that the activity in certain areas of my brain was out of sync, most likely as a result of the grief, stress, and fear I had been dealing with. I had several treatments, and, after each one, I felt better and better.“Of all the therapies I did at Whitaker Wellness, neurofeedback was the most valuable. It gave me lasting calmness and peace of body, mind, and soul.”

I Have My Life Back
“When I was 22 years old I began experiencing what was later diagnosed as panic attacks. I would wake up at night with my heart racing in my chest, I would struggle for air, and a strange tingling sensation would flow through my extremities. It wasn’t uncommon for my heart to beat so rapidly that it would skip a beat. This led to me obsessively taking my pulse, and I was thoroughly convinced that I was going to drop dead of a heart attack at any minute. And these “attacks” weren’t only nocturnal. More than once I had to leave work because I was literally freaking out.
“I took my problem to a local GP who promptly prescribed Paxil. I found this a bit odd seeing as how this drug is typically prescribed for depression. However, naively believing that “doctor knows best” I didn’t argue. The side effects were horrible. I felt like a walking zombie. Zero interest in my friends, family, work, intimacy. You name it, it was dead to me. And if I wasn’t depressed before (which I wasn’t), I sure was then. It was awful. The worst part? I lived like this for three years.
“Thank God I found the Whitaker Wellness Institute when I did. I learned that there are safe, natural ways to curb anxiety and that prescription drugs are not only dangerous but they literally wipe out the essence of who you are. I was weaned off Paxil and for the last year I’ve been going the natural route. I feel great, my anxiety and panic attacks are under control, and I can honestly say I have my life back. Thanks, Whitaker Wellness.”

Prozac-Induced Temper Tantrums Relieved
“A patient of mine had been given Prozac by another physician without my knowledge. It helped for a while, but after two years she began having violent temper tantrums. One day, without provocation, she picked up a baseball bat and smashed the windshield of her car. Her terrified husband opened the door and wisely said, ‘You’d better see a doctor.’
“I weaned her off Prozac and put her on natural agents for depression. She’s doing much, much better now.”
